Shoes for Any Sport

Any sport takes practice, determination, skill and, of course, a pair of sports shoes to get the player from point A to point B.

  • Outfit any ball player in a pair of softball or baseball cleats or turf shoes, whether they’re playing machine pitch, T-ball, high school or college ball.
  • Remain firmly rooted on the mat with wrestling shoes from Rudis, ASICS and Nike.
  • Tee off with a range of golf shoes in sophisticated styles from Cole Haan, Nike and Under Armour.
  • Pick a pair of men’s football cleats for Friday night lights, or score a touchdown for your flag footballer with youth football cleats in both classic and eye-catching colorways.
  • Ensure your kids can easily go coast to coast in high-performance molded lacrosse cleats.
  • Execute perfect stunts while wearing cheer shoes designed to match any team uniform.

How to Choose Sports Shoes

Whether you’re in the market for soccer cleats or cheer shoes, you’ll want to consider the following when selecting shoes for your sport.

  • Your (or your child’s) playing position. A pitcher, for instance, needs a baseball cleat that offers ankle flexibility, while a wrestler requires the grounding and protection of a high cut shoe.
  • The type of studs or spikes. If you’re looking for a cleat, most Little League baseball teams need molded TPU cleats, while track and field athletes often use metal spikes.
  • The fit of the sports shoe. In general, cleats should fit snugly but not uncomfortably to keep feet protected.
  • Durability and ease. Those white golf shoes may look good on the green, but if you have a kid playing football, you may want an easier-to-clean color or material that won’t show grass and mud stains.
  • Other features. Consider features such as padding and breathability to ensure game- and practice-long comfort.

Whether your kid outgrew last year’s sports shoes or you need a pair of Nike cleats for yourself, Hibbett is here to help. Let us outfit your whole family in toe-to-head athletic gear! Visit us online or shop in-stores.

Can you wear football cleats for soccer?

You can wear some football cleats for soccer — but you shouldn’t. In general, the studs on the bottom of a football cleat are thicker and heavier. Soccer cleats are the better choice because they’re designed for the lightweight agility and demands of soccer.

How to break in cleats?

Many sports cleats require a break-in period in order to acclimate to the shape and contours of your foot. Before your sports season starts, wear your cleats for 20 to 30 minutes a day until they feel comfortable. That may take up to two weeks, depending on the shoe’s materials.
